Background/purpose. This study aimed to investigate the role of parents in achieving digital security for kindergarten children in Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The study sample consisted of 404 parents, selected by convenience methods from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Materials/methods. The digital security scale, which in its final form consisted of 33 items, was used. The validity and reliability of this scale were verified. Results. The study results showed that the mean of parents' role in achieving digital security for kindergarten children in Saudi Arabia and Jordan was moderate. The results also revealed statistically significant differences in the total score of the means due to gender in favor of mothers. The results also indicated no statistically significant differences between the means of parents' roles due to country (Jordan, Saudi Arabia). |
Conclusion. The results highlighted the crucial role of parents in achieving children's digital security. Moreover, the study results indirectly indicated that parents in Jordan and Saudi Arabia were similarly concerned about the importance of educating their children about the risks of neglecting digital security.
